Established in 1976, Hounslow Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) rescues, fosters and re-homes abandoned cats and other domestic animals who often find themselves in desperate situations.
The Charity receives no government funding, is run entirely by volunteers and has no premises. It relies on a volunteer network to foster and re-home animals, and on donations to fund its work. All the money the Charity raises goes towards helping the animals in care.
HAWS takes in hundreds of neglected animals in need of urgent care and loving homes. Many have been abandoned after their owners have moved away, lost their jobs/homes, are taken ill, die or become divorced. Some are unwanted pets handed to us after being thoughtlessly given as ‘presents', while others come to us as a result of ignorance or deliberate human neglect.
The Charity never allows the destruction of an animal unless it is too seriously ill or injured for any hope of recovery and its quality of life is clearly unsatisfactory. Elderly animals and those on medication often remain in care permanently.

How it works
The Lottery results are calculated using the temperatures from selected destinations around Europe on a particular day each week.
Players are assigned 6 numbers when registering, that are then checked against the last 6 digits of temperatures in Fahrenheit that are published in the Daily Mail on the day of the draw.
